Instructions

(Start step 1 & step 2 simultaneously)

Boil water in a pot. Add noodle for black bean noodle and boil on high heat for 4~6 minutes.

Move noodle to a colander and rinse briefly under cold water in order to prevent the noodles from sticking together.

Move to a bowl and leave it aside.

Heat 1.5 Tablespoon of olive oil on a pan.
Add pork for black bean noodle.

Stir on medium-high heat for 1~3 minutes.

Add vegetables to the pan and stir on medium-high heat for 1~3 minutes.

Add shrimp - small cut to the pan and stir on medium-high heat for 1~3 minutes.

Add sauce and stir on medium-high heat for 1~3 minutes.

Add potato flour, sesame oil, and 100mL (per serving) of water. Bring to boil on high heat.

Then stir on medium heat for 3~5 minutes.
Pour the contents on top of the noodle in the bowl.

I love how it tastes! It tastes slightly different from your conventional Jja Jang Myun but still delicious. And it tastes cleaner and lighter. No heavy after taste.

Appreciated the portioning because black bean sauce always seems like one of those things you intend to make a small batch of and end up making enough to feed the whole neighborhood. Some tips: taste before salting, we usually add beef bullion to our home bean sauce but this one is very deep, rich, and beefy flavored so it doesn’t really need extra in that department. We did add a little bit of sugar to balance it out a bit but we do tend to eat ours on the slightly sweeter side. Also, make sure to rinse your noodles in the water after cooking to help remove the extra starch otherwise they may seem too heavy.
